So easy to overshoot the one-way parking entrance. If you pass it (and you'll know if you see Rosemead Library at this point), turn south onto Muscatel Ave and enter through the back alley on the right hand side. We all ordered the rice vermicelli with charbroiled pork and egg roll (#403 bun cha gio thit nuong $8.99) and subbed in the thin vermicelli noodles from #102 banh hoi thit nuong in place of the regular rice vermicelli. We were having a hard time choosing between the two so we combined the best of both worlds. Big thanks to Red 9 for allowing this substitution and making our ordering easier! I got mines without veggies as usual, so I thoroughly enjoyed my carbs and protein lunch without having to take any leftovers back!
My Honey and I came here for lunch. We ordered Pho bowl Dac Biet Special and Thiet Cuon Heo. Both served quickly and hot! Very tasty! Also ordered Cafe Sua Da! All very delicious!!!
I went with a few friends, and it was our first time here. I had the bun rieu. Overall, i think it was just a bit above average but nothing that really draws me back. I think I was expecting a bit more flavor from the crab and bone. The broth was flavorful but it tasted more like a tomato soup rather than a crab bun rieu. The bun rieu had like one or two small crab patties and a lot of broken chunks. I supposed I shouldn't be comparing a restaurant to my moms home cooked bun rieu. But since we are paying for it, I should have a bit expectations. The restaurant wasn't that busy since we went for dinner on a weekday, so there was no wait time. Overall, it was worth trying.
